Britannia Woods Community Circle

The Circle is made up of parents in the Britannia Woods and surrounding communities in the west-end of Ottawa. The Circle focuses on connecting with each other, identifying community needs, connecting the community; and building partnerships to address identified needs by the community. The Circle members meet weekly for socials, information sharing, training and advocacy.

Over the past five years the BWCC worked with the Ottawa Community Housing, Ottawa Police, elected officials and the community to bring to light key issues facing their communities. They are devoted to creating positive changes and enhancements in their community through community participation.

“My experience with therapy so far has been incredible. The ability to talk to another marginalized practitioner has been instrumental in me being able to connect with my healing journey more. I have one session a week over the phone for 1hr, and I cannot express how needed this service is. If I could offer such a service to all marginalized people, I would. The level of healing and therapy we need is vastly understated. It will not fix everything, but it is a good place to start.”
