Girls-only Drop-in

Our Girls-only Drop-in is for girls aged 9-14 and aims to build young girls’ self-esteem, cultivate their sense of community, and provide them a safe place to explore and develop skills.

MAKE iT Clubs

MAKE iT Clubs is a community-based after-school and summer program for children and youth living in community housing to explore, learn and create in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Programing fosters exploration, learning, creation, and success.

Summer Programming

The Community House strives to offer educational and fun summer programming for children and youth. Ensuring the children have access to quality program during the summer months reduces learning loss and gives them an advantage when returning to school in the fall and allows for physical activity. In addition to day camps, summer programming includes soccer lessons, youth basketball, healthy snacks/lunches, and field trips.

Basketball & Mentorship

The Britannia Woods Community House’s basketball programming is a vehicle for mentors and staff to deliver both physical literacy and life skills in a safe environment. Programming is centred around providing a safe, accessible, fun, and empowering space and is targeted towards youth ages 12 and over.

Eleanor Elliot Memorial Scholarship for Community Service

The Eleanor Elliott Memorial Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $1,500.00 to a resident of any age living in Britannia Woods who has shown an exemplary dedication to community service and community care. Consideration will also be given to former residents of Britannia Woods who can demonstrate having lived in the community for a considerable amount of time.

Manyok Akol Scholarship for Creatives

Manyok Akol was a supportive friend, a caring brother, and a loving son. He was a talented artist and athlete who left a deep imprint on the hearts of many in our community. With this annual memorial scholarship, the Britannia Woods Community House will help fund education or provide creatives with the materials they need to pursue their dreams.
