The Britannia Woods Support Line was created as a response to the increased emotional and social needs that we saw in Ottawa West neighbourhoods at the onset of the pandemic, and currently.

Generously funded by Ottawa Community Foundation, this service will be available for the next four months, beginning June 15th, 2020 to September 24th, 2020.

We will be announcing details soon.

Please follow our website for information.

What we are Offering: The goal of the support line is to provide a safe haven via telephone for racialized individuals, especially ACB individuals in the Ottawa West areas that are dealing with emotional issues rooted in isolation, discrimination, racism or everyday stressors. In addition, given that many racialized individuals stressors are compounded with personal/ systemic hardships such as  (food insecurity, language/literacy impediments, academic discrepancies etc.) we will be providing proximity care  supports; by delivering care packages & food, providing in person crisis mitigation strategies and engage in  social, academic and literacy support to children and adults. Lastly, BWSL will be supporting individuals with the navigation process to access community resources, especially individuals face who language and literacy barriers.
